Hello! I’m Faye and I run The Allotment Bride Florist.
I provide floral arrangements for Weddings and Funerals, I run various Workshops throughout the year and make gift bouquets to order.
The Allotment Bride Florist first began back in 2014 and I have loved every moment so far. What started in my garage at home has blossomed over the years and is now run from my studio based at The Undercroft, Smithy Fold, Glossop. I live in Glossop with my husband, three young daughters ....and Mearle the Sproodle!
I think I have always enjoyed the more creative side of life, in whatever form it may have taken. I was always encouraged to focus on what comes naturally, and for me that was being creative. Even when I was starting out on this journey, and feeling the natural nerves / overwhelm, my mums advice was - “Feel the fear and do it anyway Faye….never despise small beginnings…..and NEVER compromise on who you are.”...And so that’s what I did, and continue to do. I’m grateful for every step of this journey!
In an effort to keep my designs as unique as possible I have a small cutting garden locally that is managed by Shona (my wing-woman!). It provides beautifully-scented seasonal blooms throughout the warmer months to add through my work. I try to source other British-grown flowers where I can as well as flowers from the Dutch market.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with several of the industry’s leading Florists, helping to create bespoke floral artwork for Weddings, and events such as RHS Chatsworth and RHS Tatton amongst others. I am forever grateful for the experience I have gained. Being a Florist is not easy. It’s not as simple as arranging some pretty petals in a vase. It is admin-heavy, labour-intensive and a lot of unsociable hours...BUT the early mornings, the dry, cracked hands, the problem- solving, ladder-climbing, limbo-inducing installations are COMPLETELY worth it. I LOVE it. I completely love what I do. My heart goes into every piece of work so you are guaranteed the best. If you want to chat with me about all things floral please do get in touch.
